The inside
edge on the ground surface has a concave section for improved traction
and lightness. This also assists in reducing the build up of mud around
the shoe.
The crease runs through the toe and ends just after the last nail
hole leaving flat heels for improved support and a provision for stud
holes. The design of the crease again helps traction and lightens
the shoe without compromising strength.
Both front and hind Continental shoes are manufactured with a specific
left and right shape. Although the design appears symmetrical the
outside branch is slightly longer with the nail holes punched a fraction
coarser for optimum nailing on and fitting.
Shoe sizes 2 and larger have 5 nail holes on each branch allowing
the farrier a better choice for nail placement. |
| Clips are the same flush type as
found on Mustad LB shoes and on the hoof side there is a sole relief
to avoid possible problems caused by pressure on the sole. |
